The Year in Review
There is never a dull minute at Exit International!
Long-time members know this. And 2025 was no different.
The significant developments at Exit in 2025 included:
- Multiple ground-breaking updates to the Peaceful Pill eHandbook
- Analeine Cal y Mayor’s documentary Sweet Death was released & won multiple awards
- Successful Australian Workshop Tour (also London)
- Going to Switzerland book gets its first cover to cover rewrite
- Highly popular series of Webinars & Snippets were held online
- Exit welcomed Athanasios in Switzerland
- Sarco autopsy results finally released in June to no controversy other than the political machinations of the Schaffhausen prosecutor
- Exit R&D (research and development) program ramps up with the Double Dutch Sarco starting production & the launch of 2 prototypes of the Kairos Kollar
Other stories which impacted Exit include:
- December Dutch Court case loss – that would have seen assisted suicide decriminalised in the Netherlands had the appeal succeeded
- Arrests on the Gold Coast in Australia of former Exit coordinator (and longtime dear friend) Elaine Arch-Rowe and of Exit member Brett Taylor over alleged Nembutal dealing – something the tabloid media has referred to as a ‘euthanasia drug ring‘
- Court developments in Paris of Exit colleagues at Ultime Liberte where the prosecutor has requested suspended prison sentences of the 12 activists concerned for trafficking in Nembutal
As with any year – especially on this topic of end of life choices – it was a situation of ‘swings and round-abouts’ as they say.
In Conclusion
Exit would like to thank all our staff, our team of volunteers and the members around the world who support (and benefit from) all that Exit International led by founder, Dr Philip Nitschke achieves.
Safe New Year wishes to all and see you in 2026 bigger, bolder and more effective than ever.
