Exit Spring Clean
With so much happening in end of life choices news, all Exit books have received an April 2026 Update.
In particular, we have updated the sections on the downgrading of Ken Law’s 14 murder charges.
And we have updated the news from England that no law will be forthcoming in the entire UK in the near future. The implications of this lack of action, of course, is that Brits will continue to trek off to Switzerland to die (Exit recommends Athanasios.ch).
Others will elect to stay home with Exit’s Peaceful Pill eHandbook. Indeed Exit hopes to launch the Kairos Kollar in London later this year. The Kollar will provide the surety of knowing one has 'something in the cupboard' just in case things turn bad.
Watch this space for the workshop date in late summer.

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the world’s first legal, lethal voluntary injection under Australia’s Rights of the Terminally Ill Act.
On 22 September 1996, Exit Founder Dr Philip Nitschke helped prostate cancer sufferer, Bob Dent, to die. This was the first case of legal voluntary euthanasia in the world.
Ahead of its time, the Rights of Terminally Ill Act lasted 9 months before it was overturned by a 'conscience vote' in the Parliament of Australia.
Under this law, Philip helped 4 of his terminally ill patients to die.
To celebrate Exit’s 30 years of end of life activism, we are convening our first conference in 10 years, this time in Canberra, the national capital of Australia.
- Dr Helga Kuhse - philosopher, ethicist, author & inspiration behind Rights of the Terminally Ill Act
- Dr Bob Brown - former Tasmania senator, Australian Greens
- Mr Marshall Perron - former NT chief minister and architect of Rights of Terminally Ill Act
- Mr Murray McLaughlin - former ABC journalist, producer ‘Max Bell & the Road to Nowhere’ (ABC 4 Corners)
- Ms Analeine Cal y Mayor - director of 'Sweet Death’ feature documentary
- Dr David Swanton - right to choose campaigner, ACT Exit Coordinator
- Dr Philip Nitschke - founder, Exit International
