September 2026 Update - Quietus
This week, a new Swiss-style organisation has emerged.
The one point of difference is that this group is in New York, rather than Basel or Zurich.
But the services offered are much the same, as is the price tag.
The business model is innovative as the group seeks to be a one-stop-shop for terminally ill New Yorkers.
Just as groups such as Athanasios and Dignitas organise the paperwork, the medical consults, the acquisition of the drugs in Switzerland, so does Quietus in New York.

Exit London Workshop Attracts Full House
This year's Exit London Workshop had a number of firsts.
Firstly, attendees were invited to speak to Veronica (www.VeronicaTest.AI). This was the first time that an AI protocol has been used to help assess mental capacity when it comes to end of life decision-making.
Those who spoke to Veronica were provided with personal certificates to hang on their wall. The test helps Exit assess the appropriateness of our Workshops for those who attend.
Carlos was able to explain to the audience the process of assisted dying in Switzerland and what sets Athanasios apart from other assisted suicide groups.
He was most in demand to answer audience questions. Indeed the session was successful that Exit plans to host Carlos again in the future.
Finally, it is many years since Right to Life UK/ Care Not Killing have tried to interfere with Philip Nitschke's right of free movement in Europe.
We are pleased to report that despite their best efforts, Philip was welcomed to the UK. Philip says he felt reassured that the UK Government did not bend to these radical fringe groups' wishes.
