October Update
This month brings the new PPeH Update (Part I) on the Kairos Method, featuring the Kairos Kollar which was discussed and shown during the recent Australian and London Workshops.
The introduction of the Kollar is potentially a 'game-changer' in the non-drug means of a peaceful and reliable death for seniors and people who are seriously ill.
When the R&D process is complete, the Kollar should offer a strategy that is:
- simple, inexpensive & able to be made at home
- reliable & peaceful

Why does the State have such a Problem?
The recent court cases in France and the Netherlands in which members of Ultime Liberté and Cooperatie Laatste Wil were prosecuted for enabling members of their organisations to have end of life options, all point to one theme.
Elderly people want end of life options, regardless of their state of health (or illness).
To make the good death accessible only to the seriously ill and suffering is to do everyone else a fundamental wrong.
The new Exit Blog examines the common themes that emerge
- Australia - Whale Charity Nembutal Black Market
- France - where Prosecutor has requested Suspended Prison Terms for the Ultime Liberté Activists
- Netherlands - where, following the Middel X prosecutions, a landmark court ruling is due Monday 6 October which will determine whether or not assisted suicide will finally be decriminalised in the Netherlands!

If Suspended Prison Sentence is the answer ...
Last week in Paris, the French prosecutor Dorothee Branche sought suspended prison sentences (rather than up to 10 years imprisonment) for the 12 members of Ultime Liberte who have been charged with helping UL members obtain Nembutal between August 2018 and November 2020.
The trial has been a long time coming.
But the fact that non-custodial sentences are being sought for the convictions is hardly the point.
What is the point is that well-intentioned senior citizens have taken matters into their own hands.
Why? Because the French state is incapable of wrenching itself into the modern age.
With scorn in her voice, the young prosecutor said of UL that the group:
'does not just engage in political lobbying, it provides concrete support to its members by offering them assistance and, in some cases, pentobarbital, which they consider to be the ideal magic potion for dying,’
Point is, UL is correct. Nembutal is the ‘ideal magic potion for dying’. So who should blame elderly French citizens for wanting access to what they see as their human right?
