Scams Never Stop
A new scammer emerged this week, this time on X.com
The Scammer’s username is ‘@boller153785’ with a username of ‘Nembutal’
This person(s) has made contact with Philip Nitschke, asking him to follow him.
To date, Philip has declined: being of the firm belief that 99.999% of those who say they sell Nembutal on the Internet are scammers.

When Compassion Becomes Murder?
This week an Australian woman was charged with murder after helping her terminally ill husband (he had MND/ ALS) to die.
She is alleged to have given him a double dose of 'pain medication' (un-named).
The investigation is said to be complicated which is why it has taken 17 months for her to be charged.
What is puzzling about this reporting is why Kylie Truswell-Mobbs has not been charged with assisting a suicide.
Of course, David Mobbs would have qualified for the Queensland assisted dying law, such is the seriousness of motor neurone disease.
However, Kylie is alleged not to have played by the rules.
The Police, therefore, seem intent on making an example of her: despite there being no public interest angle in the case (at least not that Exit can see).
Kylie has been remanded in custody until her next court appearance ‘later this month’.

Trump, Tariffs & You?
Given that Exit has many readers in the US, the news this week concerning tariffs is not good.
It is still unclear how the 20% EU tariff will be collected and by whom, and if it includes books.
However, given this is a universal tax, it seems unlikely that books will escape it.
What we do know is that this is not a tax on services and the EU is yet to retaliate with a reciprocal tax (eg. on EU services purchased by Americans).
This means that for the time being a PPeH subscription remains the same price.
The price of the print PPH also remains unchanged but for how long? We are sorry but the full tariff will be passed on to the US-based purchaser.
Please also note, the USPS (who deliver our print books) are especially slow at the moment, with several people complaining that they have not yet received their book orders from February.
Exit apologises for this. Post NL (the Dutch postal service) is not fast at the best of times. Couple this with the turmoil in the USPS, and shipping is currently especially slow.
Patience is required if you wish to receive a print book.

The Good Death: 2025 Trends
Last week in the Netherlands, the annual Euthanasia Report was published that examines the operation of Dutch euthanasia law over the past 12 months.
What is notable for the year just gone is the increase in the numbers of people using the law to get help to die.
Remember, in the Netherlands one need not be terminally ill.
Unbearable suffering is acceptable, as is psychiatric illness (including dementia).
In the Netherlands one can ask for euthanasia in an advance directive.
This way, a person can get help to die even though they have lost decision-making capacity due to their dementia.
What is restrictive about Dutch law is that it is medically controlled by the doctors.
Also, ‘tired of life’ or 'completed life’ (as the Dutch call it) is also not allowed.
It is not enough to be old if you want to get help to die. You must be suffering or sick.
As progressive as the Dutch are, many would argue they are not progressive enough!
