Sarco @ Switzerland - Update
This week marks the 6 month anniversary since the first use of the Sarco in Switzerland.
In some ways it seems like yesterday that the Exit team was in the forest in Schaffhausen, setting up & testing/ retesting the machine.
In other ways it seems a lifetime ago.
- A seriously-ill American woman died peacefully in the Sarco.
- She lost consciousness in 2 minutes and died 7 minutes later.
- The Last Resort President Florian Willet was arrested, imprisoned & later released after 70 long days & nights in a Swiss prison.
- Our Lawyers were detained, & later released.
- Exit office in Haarlem (Netherlands) was raided by Dutch police at the request of the Schaffhausen prosecutor.
Seized were a number of computers along with the non-functional 3D-printed Sarco model that has been displayed at Venice Design 2019, & other museums around Europe.
At the current time, multiple court cases are running in Switzerland & the Netherlands. Meanwhile the Schaffhausen prosecutor’s ‘criminal investigation’ continues!
At the time of publication, the defense lawyers have still not received the files (as reported in NZZ back in November 2024), nor is there an autopsy report!
The Schaffhausen Prosecutor has rightly discarded to the trash bin of history his previous suggestion that the woman might have been ‘strangled'!
- A new 3D-printed ‘duo’ Sarco (for 2 people) has begun printing
- Stage 1 of the Sarco 3D print plans will shortly be published
- The new Coffin Sarco has undergone successful testing in the Netherlands
- At least one Swedish legal opinion now suggests that Sarco could be lawfully used in Sweden (in addition to Finland)
Further announcements are forthcoming. Watch this space in the coming weeks.

500 Pages of Free Appendix
in Every Online Peaceful Pill eHandbook
In 2022 Exit undertook a radical overhaul of the Peaceful Pill eHandbook to create the shortened, more succinct Essentials edition.
The original text had grown too unwieldy.
However, rather than dumping the vast annals of information, this was relegated to the Appendix.
In every subscription, the Appendix is included (although it is not searchable). This is a little-known fact for many subscribers.
- If you want to know about the Korean Collar for example, consult the Appendix (and note: there's soon to be an eHandbook update on this unique method)
- If you want to view old footage of El Paso, Laredo or Tijuana, you can find it in the Appendix.
- If you are lucky enough to have a supply of old Doloxene (dextropropoxyphine), try the Appendix.
* Remember, the print edition contains no updates, and no Appendix
* Age restrictions apply to all editions. Photo ID required.

Vale - Professor Daniel Kahneman
Exit Member/Nobel Prize Winner
Until last week, Professor Daniel Kahneman was, perhaps, best known as the joint winner of the 2002 Nobel Prize for his work in Economic Sciences and as author of Thinking, Fast and Slow.
Until now, the least know fact about him was that he was a proud member of Exit International who used Exit’s Swiss Assistance Program to get an assisted suicide in Switzerland in early 2024.
At the time of his death, Exit were sworn to secrecy. He wanted only close family to know of his plans.
Exit is proud to have included Daniel Kahneman amongst our many members.
And it is rewarding that the organisation was able to help him in a practical way in his hour of need.
