For many years, Exit has been asked how we have ensured that those attending our meetings are of sound mind. Until now, this has been a grey area to address.

In the coming weeks, those registered for the Workshop will be sent an invitation to have a confidential chat with Veronica.

Veronica is friendly, convivial and nothing to be scared of. She may even amuse you :-)

New Exit Blog - August 2026
In Australia, it remains illegal to use the phone, email, fax (remember that?) or the Internet to discuss end of life issues.

This is why the Peaceful Pill eHandbook is published in the Netherlands.

This crazy censorship law is formally known as the Suicide Related Materials Offences Act. It is an amendment to the Australian Crimes Act.
|
The Act was introduced in 2006 by the conservative and Catholic (then) Minister for Justice & Customs, Chris Ellison.
|
An Act of the John Howard government, the law passed with support from Labor.
|
This Gag-Act was intended to silence Philip Nitschke, and to put Exit on permanent notice. Needless to say, it failed.
|
However, there is now much concern about how this restriction is stymieing the use of ‘teleheath' for the mandatory medical involvement which is an essential part of Australia's restrictive assisted dying laws.

Come to Canberra
September 2026 marks the 30th Anniversary of the world’s first legal, lethal voluntary injection under Australia’s Rights of the Terminally Ill Act.

To celebrate Exit’s 30 years of end of life rights advocacy, Exit is holding a special conference in Canberra, Australia.
|
Keynote speakers include: Professor Helga Kuhse, Dr Bob Brown, Mr Marshall Perron (homage), Mr Murray McLaughlin & Dr Philip Nitschke.

The conference will also feature the Australian Premiere of the award-winning documentary of Mexican/ Spanish film maker, Analeine Cal y Mayor - Sweet Death
