Dicing with Dr Death Anniversary

It was ten years ago this week when Dr Philip Nitschke launched his stand-up comedy career, with his debut show ‘Dicing with Dr Death’ at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Despite causing a rackus in the local media, with Police visiting the show just prior to opening night (concerned that someone may die on stage), the show proceeded attracting 5 star, 4 star and 1 star reviews!

It is timely that the Sweet Death documentary by Analeiene Cal y Mayor which is set, in part, at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe, should premiere at the Ierapetra Documentary Festival this week.

If you happen to be passing through Crete, please come along. To all those who donated to Analeine’s fundraiser (which is enabling her to be at the Festival), she is very very grateful to you.

'Sweet Death’ Documentary

Analeine Cal y Mayor’s new documentary 'Sweet Death’ will premiere at the Ierapetra International Film Festival (3-10 August) in Crete, Greece.

Documentary Synopsis

Ten years ago, at the ripe old age of 81, she traveled to Tijuana to buy herself some Nembutal. She wanted ‘something in the cupboard, just in case’.

Kathy is now 91 and still going strong, relaxed in the knowledge that she has an end of life option.

Analeine's new documentary, Sweet Death, captures Kathy’s trip to Mexico, juxtaposing this adventure against Philip Nitschke’s comedy debut at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe with his stand-up show, ‘Dicing with Dr Death’.

Sweet Death Director: Analeine Cal y Mayor
Sweet Death Executive Producer: Viggo Mortensen

Florian’s Farewell

This week our beloved colleague and friend, Florian Willet, had his funeral and the burial of his urn of ashes at the Cologne cemetery in Germany.

Philip Nitschke was in attendance which offered him the opportunity to meet Florian’s extended family.

The short ceremony was a short, emotional affair for a life that was cut short in such tragic circumstances.

Florian is missed by everyone at Exit and The Last Resort

Florian's online tribute is available in perpetuity.
