New Swiss Group Reviewed
Finally, Exit is in the position of being able to recommend a Swiss assisted dying/ assisted suicide organisation for Members.
After a hiatus of more than a year, Exit is pleased to announce and be able to recommend as a new Swiss Option, the Athanasios Association in Basel.

We say 'new-old' because the team behind Athanasios are all former Pegasos staff who have broken away to form their new group. Athanasios prides itself on the highest ethical standards and practice.
Athanasios is a breath of fresh air, especially as they:

Autopsy Prompts Serious Questions of Schaffhausen Sarco Investigation
On Sunday, the Zurich paper, NZZ on Sunday, published a significant article on the state of the investigation into the Sarco by the Schaffhausen prosecutor.
Written by investigative journalist/ deputy editor-in-chief, Alain Zucker, the article asks important questions regarding the manner of the ongoing criminal investigation.
In particular, the article questions the apparent discrepancies between what was said during the ‘infamous' phone-call (which was used by the prosecutor for his allegation of strangulation. The strangulation allegation was used as the basis for pre-trial detention of the founding President of The Last Resort, Dr Florian Willet) and the actual contents of the official autopsy report.
Exit’s Swiss lawyers were finally provided with a copy of the autopsy report last week, some eight months after the Sarco was used. The prosecutor received the report in March but did not pass it on.
The release of the autopsy report by the prosecutor comes one week after it was discovered that Florian took his own life.
In January 2025, Florian was diagnosed with an 'acute polymorphic psychotic disorder (F23.0)’. According to his psychiatric report this 'developed following the stress of the pre-trial detention’.
Florian’s death is tragic. He is very missed by all who knew him. The Sarco project continues in his memory.

Registrations Open
On June 29/30, EXIT will hold its next online short-form Workshop, known as a Snippet.
There are 2 dates and 2 events in order to ensure a civilised attendance time for all.
June Topic - ‘Does Nitrogen Hypoxia cause Convulsions’?
This topic is especially relevant given the horror stories which have emerged when nitrogen hypoxia has been used to execute death row prisoners.
It is also pertinent given the use of Sarco in Switzerland in September 2024.
Does Nitrogen Hypoxia provide a peaceful death or not? And what difference does it make if the administration is via a bag, mask or the Sarco?
The last Snippet was held in March 2025.
The March Topic was ‘Does Nembutal cause Drowning’? A recording of this Snippet is published within the Peaceful Pill eHandbook.
Snippets are exclusive for Exit Members & Subscribers to the Peaceful Pill eHandbook.
Photo ID may be required.
