Recording Now Available
A new Snippet Recording is now available for viewing in the online Peaceful Pill eHandbook.
Does Nitrogen Hypoxia Cause Convulsions?
There has been much written in the media & elsewhere about the use of hypoxia on death row (with a mask) & about the type of death that the Sarco provided in Switzerland last September.
The Snippet examines the myths that surround 'the hypoxic death’ given that this method of death has been a mainstay (Exit Bag) in the right to die movement for more than 20 years.
As a means of elective death, hypoxia can provide a lawful (& undetectable) option for a peaceful and reliable end.
Other 2025 Snippet topics include: ‘Does Nembutal Cause Drowning’ - view also in the online edition of the Peaceful Pill eHandbook.

'Sweet Death' Wins Montreal Women’s
Film Festival
Congratulations AGAIN to Analeine Cal y Mayor for her 2nd Feature Documentary WIN in as many weeks.
Last week 'Sweet Death' won 1st Prize in the Feature Documentary category in Montreal
On 10 August, Sweet Death won the prize for best feature documentary at the Ierapetra International Film Festival in Greece.
The documentary (which began filming in 2015) follows 'Kathy from Eastbourne' (then aged 81 years) as she travels to Tijuana in search of Nembutal.
Kathy’s trip to Mexico is juxtaposed against the premiere of Philip Nitschke’s stand-up comedy debut at the Edinburgh Fringe with his show ‘Dicing with Dr Death’.
The result is a memorizing piece of cinema which superbly balances the black humour of a show that teaches you how to kill yourself, with the real life needs of elderly people around the world.
As soon as future international screening arrangements are known we shall report them here.
Director: Analeine Cal y Mayor (Mexico)
Executive Producer: Viggo Mortensen (USA)

Pegasos Controversy Continues
Despite repeated pledges to change their ways, Pegasos cannot seem to get it right.
The most recent controversy concerns 58-year old Maureen Slough from Ireland who died at the clinic in early July.
Maureen had told her family that she was going on holiday with a friend to Lithuania. Instead she went to Pegasos to die.
Maureen had earlier reportedly attempted suicide after the heart-breaking deaths of her two sisters.
Maureen’s daughter, Megan, and partner, Mick, are said to be devastated about the Whats App message they received from Pegasos saying that their mother’s ashes would arrive in the mail with a tracking number.
Megan has now called for Pegasos to ‘close your doors and go away’.
Exit is occasionally asked why the orgnaisation no longer supports the Pegasos group. The case of Maureen Slough is a good example of why.
Instead, Exit is pleased to refer Members to the Athanasios Association - which is staffed by former Pegasos employees.
In contrast, Athanasios is seeking to be an open, transparent & ethical choice for foreigners wishing to die in Switzerland.
