NuTech Re-Born as DAO Research Group
NuTech was conceived by John Hoffsess (deceased), Derek Humphry (ERGO) and Philip Nitschke (Exit International) in 1998 as an organisation set up to investigate and research new technologies to make a peaceful and reliable elective death available to all rational adults.

Since that time NuTech has been responsible for a number of pivotal developments that have changed the face of the DIY rational suicide.
|
Research projects have included the move from helium to nitrogen hypoxia, the development of the De-Breather, the Sarco 3D printed liquid nitrogen capsule, as well as spearheading the important work on the lethal inorganic salts, sodium nitrite and sodium azide.
|
|
Current active programs include the development of an AI tool for mental capacity assessment and an implantable 'death switch' as a responsible and effective answer to the dementia dilemma.
|
To facilitate and coordinate this research and to bring in new projects Exit is establishing a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO) to better structure global research and allocate funding.
|
|
Details of the smart contracts and blockchain control to allow the allocation of crypto funds for projects will be published shortly along with details of the inaugural virtual conference.
|
This development is important, given the increasing move by global right to die organisations to embrace medically supervised assistance death (MAiD).
|
|
The Dublin World Federation of Right to Die Societies conference in September this year has abandoned any interest in pursuing NuTech objectives instead focusing solely the restrictive medical legislative model.

Inaugural Free Webinar
Given the baptism of fire which has surrounded the new Swiss organisation The Last Resort in its efforts to introduce the Sarco to that country, the first information Webinar will take place at 22.00 (CEST) on Tuesday 3 September 2024.
|
The Webinar will be hosted by CoPresident of The Last Resort, Dr Florian Willet.
|
The issues covered will include the aims of the organisation, how it will function to offer the Sarco device, why it can offer fee-free assisted dying and the recent month-long misinformation campaign that has been spear-headed by NZZ media in Switzerland.
|
The Last Resort seeks to exist quietly and respectfully alongside other right to die groups in Switzerland, however when it comes to foreigners, assisted suicide is big business in this part of the world.
|
Powerful vested interests are at play. This is a loose-loose situation for anyone seeking to make use of this country's enlightened and liberal human rights laws.
